A British classic popular since Victorian times but worn by Men all the way through to the early 1950s, our 'Bertie' high-back fishtail trousers are actually based on an original early '40s CC41 pair in our personal collection.
They feature period correct details such as a deep rise to sit on your natural waist (often referred to as 'High-waisted' compared to the modern trouser cut), twin-pleats for a slightly fuller hang, an extended waistband for a smoother fit, buttons for braces, and a straight-leg ending in 22" cuffs complete with turn-ups.
Key Features include:-
- High-rise natural waist
- Buttons for braces
- Twin pleats
- 22" cuffs
- Two side pockets
- Change/watch pocket with flap
- Single rear pocket with flap
This is a top quality fabric woven here in England.
Fabric: Mid-weight Wool/poly mix - Yorkshire woven cloth.
Care: Dry clean recommended - but can be machine washed
These trousers will sit on your natural waist (that's where your belly button is in case you didn't know) so measure yourself at this point and choose the size that matches.
For length measure your inside leg from the point between your legs to the point at which the tape measure sits on top of your shoes, then find the leg length that is closest. You may have to get this adjusted for the perfect fit but there is enough hem to go up and down by (measurement needed).
