The stylish trousers are based on an original pair of CC41 1940s fish tail backs we acquired.
This style of trouser was worn by men of all ages throughout the 30s and through to the early 50s. They sit high on the waist (compared to modern pants) and are commonly worn with button braces. The fish tail back is a classic feature and these also have the magic 22" trouser bottom circumference. There are pleats into the waist but due to cost and fabric restrictions during this era, these trousers are fairly lean on fabric compared to our upcoming peg trousers.
We are told these are supremely comfy and great to dance in - we omitted the lining due to the weight of this fabric.
